Illustration for Pressure Advance

Pressure Advance anticipates the elastic behavior of filament and molten plastic. Correct tuning reduces corner bulging and underfilled transitions when print speed changes.

How do you recognize it?

  • Bulging corners when too low
  • Rounded or thinned transitions when too high
  • Corner quality changes with speed

Common causes

  • Value does not match filament/extruder
  • Hardware or filament changed after calibration
  • Flow was not calibrated first

What should you check first?

  1. Calibrate basic flow first.
  2. Run a suitable PA calibration.
  3. Treat PA as material- and system-dependent.
