Pressure Advance anticipates the elastic behavior of filament and molten plastic. Correct tuning reduces corner bulging and underfilled transitions when print speed changes.
How do you recognize it?
- Bulging corners when too low
- Rounded or thinned transitions when too high
- Corner quality changes with speed
Common causes
- Value does not match filament/extruder
- Hardware or filament changed after calibration
- Flow was not calibrated first
What should you check first?
- Calibrate basic flow first.
- Run a suitable PA calibration.
- Treat PA as material- and system-dependent.
